The Whetstone Scholarship 2026 (the “Scholarship”) is offered by Whetstone Advisory LLC, DBA Whetstone Admissions (“Whetstone”), New York, NY. Whetstone is a private company, not a charitable foundation, and the Scholarship is not administered by or affiliated with any school, college, or university.
No purchase, payment, or fee of any kind is required to apply for or to receive the Scholarship. Purchasing services from Whetstone does not improve an applicant's chance of being selected.
Two (2) full awards, each consisting of a complete Whetstone engagement with a stated retail value of up to $35,000. The value of an engagement varies with the services it includes; $35,000 is the maximum, not a guaranteed amount.
Whetstone may in addition offer partial awards to shortlisted applicants who are not selected for a full award. The number of partial awards, and the value of each, are at Whetstone's sole discretion. No partial award is promised to any applicant.
Awards are delivered as services only. They have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash or credit, and are not transferable to another student.
Selection is on merit alone. Financial circumstances are not collected and play no part in the decision. Each application is read and assessed by Cole Whetstone and members of the Whetstone team. In the event of a tie, the application submitted earlier prevails. Decisions are final.
Recipients will be asked to agree in writing to a schedule of sessions and a minimum level of participation. Whetstone may end an award, without owing any cash equivalent, where a recipient repeatedly fails to attend scheduled sessions.
An award of services is not a tuition scholarship and may be taxable to the recipient. Where the value of an award requires it, Whetstone may be obliged to issue an IRS Form 1099. Recipients are responsible for any tax arising from an award and should consult their own tax adviser. Whetstone does not give tax advice.
Whetstone would like to name recipients and describe their outcomes in its marketing. Consent to this is requested separately at the time of award, is entirely optional, and is not a condition of receiving or keeping an award.
Information submitted is used to evaluate the application and to contact the applicant about it, and is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Applicants may ask us to delete their application at any time by writing to team@whetstoneadmissions.com.
Whetstone may amend these rules or withdraw the Scholarship where it is necessary to do so. Material changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and applicants who have already applied will be notified by email.
